2026 Poster Abstracts
Submission Guidelines
Families, Researchers, Healthcare Professionals, Students, Residents and Fellows who have conducted TANGO2 deficiency disorder (TDD) research studies or public health projects relevant to TDD are invited to submit a poster abstract for inclusion in the poster hall at the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference, taking place June 28–30, 2026.
Key Dates

The TANGO2 Research Foundation (T2RF) Conference Planning & Poster Abstract Review Committee is interested in abstracts that highlight new research, change clinical practice, enhance TDD warrior care, address disparities in health or increase patient engagement or patient advocacy.
The five (5) categories listed below are the focus areas for the event. Please use these as a guide as you develop your poster abstract for consideration of inclusion in the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference poster hall.
Categories
Innovative Research in TDD
Poster abstracts may cover any type of innovative TDD research, including; preclinical models, clinical studies, case studies, patient-focused studies, patient/family experience, technological, economic, or policy research as it relates to health and social issues. Also included in this theme are collaborative initiatives and centers of excellence that involve ground-breaking strategies or projects that could be useful to other groups, organizations, patients, government, academics or professionals in the TDD community.
Medical Education Advancement in TDD
Poster abstracts should cover public health awareness and education of healthcare professionals (HCPs) and/or TDD families; information exchange or training that leads to advancements in screening and/or diagnosis; or innovative models for medical education training.
TDD Stakeholder Engagement and Education in TDD
Poster abstracts should highlight novel approaches to educating and engaging TDD families and health care professionals; models for incorporating stakeholder input into study designs and protocols; or effective strategies to elevate patient advocacy and awareness using technology or communications.
Access to TDD Diagnosis, Treatment and Care
Poster abstracts in this category should include research or programming to address barriers to diagnosis, treatment, or care for those living with TDD, including disparities in outcomes or access to services.
Other Topics
These poster abstracts should still relate to the overall topic of TANGO2 deficiency disorder but do not fit within the themes previously listed.
Poster Abstract Requirements & Submission
Submission Deadline
All poster abstracts must be submitted by March 13, 2026 with no exceptions. Poster abstracts will only be accepted via this form.
General Requirements
- All poster abstracts must be noncommercial and without inclusion of trade names or logo by any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing healthcare goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients. Any mention of specific products or and/or services must be limited to generic names, with no inclusion of trade names in any area of the poster, including poster titles.
- Posters should include data for consideration. Preliminary and pilot data will be accepted.
- Poster abstracts should be original in research and include appropriate empirical evidence.
Encore Abstracts
Encore abstracts are welcome under the following conditions:

The work has not been widely shared or presented within the broader rare disease community prior to the TANGO2 Family Conference.

If previously presented to a similar audience, the data must be meaningfully updated prior to submission.

The work does not violate nor infringe upon any copyright or proprietary restrictions of any third party or from prior presentations, such as previous conferences or congresses.
Copyright and Permissions
- Copyright and Permissions: Authors who include materials that are not their own (e.g., images, charts, graphs, etc.) in their poster abstract must cite the original source. If authors draw heavily on another source or use substantial portions of another work, it is the responsibility of the author(s) to seek and obtain permission to use the material.
- Use of data accepted and/or published as a journal article: Data accepted or published by a medical or academic journal may be used if it is cited and does not infringe on any copyright issues with the journal. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to seek and receive permission to use the data.
Additional Rules
- Referral to webpages or URLs may not be used in the poster abstract.
- Submission of a poster abstract constitutes a commitment by the presenting author to present their work in-person at the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference poster hall if the poster abstract is accepted.

Poster abstracts should be no more than one page, excluding space for tables and figures, and utilize the following specifications:

Healthcare Professionals / Researchers

Purpose: Rationale of the study and/or the question addressed

Background: Brief context around your study topic and why it is important

Methods: Experimental approach, materials, and methods used in the study

Results: Data and results obtained in the study

Conclusions: Conclusions and/or implications of the results
Families

Purpose/Background: Context to help the reader understand the purpose of the abstract and why the abstract’s content is important to the TDD community

Intervention: What was implemented to support your TANGO2 warrior

Maintenance: How does your TANGO2 warrior maintain intervention results

Quality of Life/Conclusions: What is the outcome and/or quality of life post intervention
Poster abstracts must adhere to the formatting guidelines and not exceed one page (excluding figures/tables). Submissions that do not comply will not be reviewed.
Notification
- Poster abstracts will be evaluated by the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference & Poster Abstract Review Committee. The main contact for each poster abstract will be notified by T2RF staff about acceptance or nonacceptance by April 3, 2026.
- Notification and all correspondence will be with the main point of contact and additional contacts noted on the submission form.
Accepted Poster Abstracts
- As stated above, the submission of a poster abstract constitutes a commitment by the presenting author to purchase a registration for the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference and present their work in person in the poster hall if the poster abstract is accepted. All additional abstract authors are encouraged to register to attend the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference.
- If the original designated presenting author is unable to attend, a co-author may be designated as an alternate presenter. Authors of accepted poster abstracts will prepare a physical poster for the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference poster hall.
Embargo Policy
- Embargo Policy: If your poster abstract is accepted, T2RF requests that your poster not be shared publicly before the start of the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference Sunday, June 28, 2026.
- Accepted poster abstracts will be made publicly available via a peer-reviewed journal with permission from the author post TANGO2 Family Conference.
Poster Size & Printing Guidelines

Printed physical posters should be up to 30 inches high x 40 inches wide.

You may reuse an already-printed poster so long as the final dimensions are within 42 inches tall x 56 inches wide. Please let T2RF know no later than May 15th, 5 PM EST if you plan to reuse a poster already printed, in addition to its dimensions.

You may print and transport your poster yourself, via a vendor of your choosing, or through our suggested vendor. We recommend that you choose the fabric option for printing for ease of travel.

Best Practices for Posters

You are welcome to use the attached template in developing your poster, which is formatted (30 × 40) to fit within the display board.

Ensure the title of the poster, the authors (and the order in which they should appear), and any institutional affiliations (as applicable) are listed.
For Research Posters
Ensure Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion are included.

Final Poster Tips

Confirm there is a logical sequence of information flow (left to right, and top to bottom).

Use photographs, graphs, tables, and charts whenever possible to display data or convey important information.

Edit to ensure that each section is concise and clear. Content should be presented so as to be absorbed in 10 minutes or less.
