Rare Disease Day is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness for the over 300 million people worldwide living with a rare condition. Today is our moment to amplify the voices of our TANGO2 community.

Every story matters, whether in person or on social media, today is an especially important day to build community. Educate your network with TANGO2 rare disease facts and why this fight matters.

New research continues to shed light on TDD’s underlying mechanisms. A recent study published in the Journal of Cell Biology has identified TANGO2 as an acyl-CoA binding protein, which may play a critical role in lipid metabolism and mitochondrial function. Understanding how TANGO2 mutations disrupt cellular pathways could pave the way for targeted therapies, offering hope to families affected by this rare condition.

At the TANGO2 Research Foundation, we are committed to driving research, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the TDD community. Since our inception, we have funded groundbreaking studies and worked alongside leading experts to accelerate treatment development.

On this Rare Disease Day, we stand with the entire rare disease community in calling for greater awareness, funding, and action. By sharing knowledge and amplifying the voices of those impacted by TDD, we can move closer to life-changing discoveries.

Join us in spreading awareness and supporting research efforts to improve the lives of individuals with TDD. Learn more, make a donation and get involved at TANGO2 Research Foundation.
