The TANGO2 Research Foundation recently wrapped up our third Shine a Light on TANGO2 fundraising campaign. This annual fundraising event supports The T2RF’s mission of funding TANGO2 Deficiency Disorder (TDD) research.
From February to June participants in the Shine a Light on TANGO2 campaign formed amazing fundraising teams and hosted creative fundraisers within their own communities, as well as accept donations online. This year, we set a goal to raise $100,000 (USD). We are delighted to share that we exceeded this goal! Over $109,000 (USD) was raised. A big thanks to all of our amazing fundraisers and donors.
A special congratulations to our top 5 individual fundraisers and teams;
Individuals: Kara Cameron, Matt Dort, Veronica Jones, Mike Morris, and Kelley Hernandez
Teams: Team Ryan, Team Brian, The Dorts’ Team, Team Fryar Brothers, and Cole’s Cousins
Funds raised will support T2RF Cycle 3 Research Grantees. These scientists will be conducting groundbreaking TANGO2 related research.
- Dr. Vandana Gupta of Brigham and Women’s Hospital
- Drs. Lilei Zhang and Aleksandar Bajic of Baylor College of Medicine
- Drs. Michael Sacher and Chiara Gamberi of Concordia University and Coastal Caroling University respectively
Again, a huge thank you to all of the participants in this year’s Shine a Light on TANGO2 Campaign in helping us to exceed our fundraising goal. If you missed the Celebration which includes appearances from some of the researchers, go to our YouTube channel to watch online. We look forward to seeing you again next year and funding more TDD research in the future!
