The TANGO2 Research Foundation is excited to announce the funding of its first research award. The Foundation has committed $45,000 over a two-year period to help fund the cost of a Research Assistant dedicated to the TANGO2 Study being conducted at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

The project is being led under the direction of Doctors Seema Lalani (Principle Investigator) and Christina Miyake. The IRB protocol was approved in late April and announced here in May – TANGO2 Study Announced – Baylor (BCM) IRB Protocol Approved.

As an organization, we realize that the natural history collection and biorepository build-out are the critical foundational components necessary to accelerate the research required to effectively manage and treat this serious disease. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to support this important work and look forward to a continued partnership as things move forward.

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – this is ours. There will be many more steps – and ups and downs along the way – but this project and those yet to come, give hope to all parents and families of children affected by TANGO2 disease that a better, more optimistic future does exists.
