Exciting news! We are so pleased to announce that the TANGO2 Research Foundation has been approved for a $250,000 (USD) funding award through the Eugene Washington PCORI Awards program, an initiative of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
The T2RF was one of several organizations awarded funding under a new Engagement Award opportunity focused on supporting small organizations, in particular those that may not have any prior experience with patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER), to build their capacity to participate in this research.
This project was selected through a highly competitive review process in which applications were assessed for their ability to meet PCORI’s engagement goals and objectives, as well as program criteria.
PCORI is an independent, nonprofit organization authorized by Congress to fund research that will provide patients, their caregivers and clinicians with the evidence-based information needed to make better-informed healthcare decisions.
The Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Program, named in honor of the first chair of PCORI’s Board of Governors, is intended to bring more patients, caregivers, clinicians and other healthcare stakeholders into the research process.
For the next two years, this funding support will assist the T2RF to continue the work of supporting TANGO2 families and funding groundbreaking TDD research by developing a skilled community of patients and other stakeholders from across the entire healthcare enterprise and involving them meaningfully in every aspect of PCORI’s work.
