We are excited to celebrate this month’s Hero Highlight, David Longman! David has been involved with the TANGO2 Research Foundation since 2019 and currently serves as a board member and member of the Research Committee. He became involved because of his commitment to helping his child, and other TANGO2 Warriors, have the best life possible.
For David, supporting research is an important part of creating that better future. Over the past seven years, he has seen firsthand how research, shared knowledge, and community connection can make a meaningful difference for families navigating TANGO2 Deficiency Disorder.
Recently, David helped found TANGO2 Australia alongside three other Australian families. This new organization is focused on supporting families affected by TANGO2 Deficiency Disorder and contributing to research efforts in close collaboration with T2RF. Through this work, David hopes to improve awareness, support, and outcomes for TANGO2 Warriors in Australia and beyond.
David deeply values being connected to the wider TANGO2 community and is grateful for the support, advice, and perspective he has received from families, advocates, and leaders around the world. He is passionate about advancing research, sharing knowledge, identifying more affected individuals early, and working toward effective treatments and, one day, a cure.
